Sea 3 — the Land of the Gods — arrived in Update 1 (June 30, 2026). Unlike earlier seas, you must defeat Red Emperor Shanks in a solo gatekeeper fight before any Sea 3 island unlocks. This walkthrough covers the Shanks gate, first-week priorities, Okuchi and 3 Sword Style routes, and storage systems that define Update 1 end-game.
Step 1 — Defeat Shanks
Speak to the Gatekeeper NPC at the Third Sea entrance after Sea 2 progression. Accept the challenge, enter the solo arena, and defeat Shanks at full health with Buso Haki active. Full strategy on our Shanks boss page and Sea 3 unlock guide.
Step 2 — Explore the Sea 3 NPC Hub
After Shanks, locate the central hub with Fruit Dealer, Race Spin NPC, Stat Reset, Haki Color NPC, Mastery NPC, Doctor White, and Marine Recruiter. Sage of Combat handles fighting style quests; Doran the Forge upgrades 3 Sword Style to V2. Map landmarks on our Sea 3 map.
Step 3 — Okuchi and 3 Sword Style
Roll or hunt the Okuchi mythical fruit — Update 1's S-tier freeze kit. Parallel track: unlock 3 Sword Style V1 via the Rock Shrine or 3SS Boss drop, then upgrade to V2 at Doran the Forge. Compare power levels on our fruit and weapon tier lists.
Step 4 — Storage and Gear
Buy Race Storage slots (1,000 Gems each, max 5) before burning spins on S-tier races. Craft Sea Beast Helmet V2 and Armor V2 with 2 Sea Beast Hearts each for +Stamina, +Health, and Observation bonuses. Redeem all 15 codes on active codes first.
Legacy End-Game (Gear 5 / Dragon Boss)
Gum (formerly Rubber) Gear 5 and Dragon Super Boss content carries over from Haze Piece. Treat our Gear 5 and Dragon boss guides as legacy references — verify quest flags in-game after Update 1 patches.
